David Amron, MD

Dr. David Amron is a board-certified dermatologic surgeon with over 25 years of experience, internationally renowned as a leading specialist in lipedema, liposculpture, and revision liposuction surgery. As the founder and medical director of The Roxbury Institute, with locations in Beverly Hills, CA, Tucson, AZ, and Salt Lake City, UT, Dr. Amron has dedicated his career to pioneering advancements in lipedema reduction surgery. Dr. Amron works closely with Dr. Karen Herbst, Ph.D, M.D., the Head of Research and Director of Diagnostic and Preventative Medicine for the Advanced Lipedema Treatment program at The Roxbury Institute.

After graduating from the University of California San Diego with a degree in Biology, Dr. Amron attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he obtained his medical degree. He then returned to UCSD to complete his residency. A research fellowship at UCLA followed. Dr. Amron is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a member of numerous medical societies including the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Society for Liposuction Surgery, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.  

Dr. Amron is a well-known national and international speaker and surgical advisor on the subject of lipedema and liposculpture. He trains other select surgeons from around the globe on his unique surgical techniques and his work has been featured extensively in the media including national and international television, radio, and print. Dr. Amron is the creator and host of Lippy Logic™, the first comprehensive educational YouTube series about lipedema, and he is an outspoken advocate for lipedema awareness, education and insurance reform for lipedema patients. In 2015 he founded the lipedema Society™ to further increase awareness and knowledge of lipedema.

In 2023, Dr. Amron released his best-selling book, Liposculpture and Lipedema Surgery: A Guide for the Patient and Pearls for the Surgeon, which serves as both an educational resource and a testament to his groundbreaking approach. The book encapsulates his philosophy of personalized, patient-centered care, emphasizing the importance of mastering surgical nuance to achieve exceptional outcomes. Dr. Amron's work not only highlights his technical expertise but also empowers patients and fellow surgeons alike through education, offering valuable insights and fostering a deeper understanding of liposculpture and lipedema surgery.
