Preparing for your labiaplasty

At The Roxbury Institute, our number one priority is achieving your unique goals. As such, we will spend a great deal of time prior to your surgery making sure our team understands exactly what you hope to accomplish with your labiaplasty.

To begin, we’ll schedule an initial consultation with you and one of our dermatologic surgeons. While other doctors have you meet with their staff initially and rush you through the consultation process, our surgeons spend an average of one hour with each patient, discussing your goals and making sure we are able to accomplish the specific objectives you have in mind.

During this meeting, we will also review the details of your procedure with you, including all of the incision locations, the amount of tissue we’ll be removing and your anesthesia choices. We’ll talk to you about the advantages and disadvantages of each option, and help you make informed decisions that are in your best interest. Once we’re confident that you’re educated about the procedure and comfortable with the customized treatment plan we’ve created, we will schedule your operation.

What to expect during your procedure

During your customized labiaplasty, our goal is to trim and reshape your labia to create a natural and more comfortable intimate appearance. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, however we tend to use general anesthesia for most of our Beverly Hills patients, as we believe it’s the safer option.

To begin the procedure, we will mark the labia meticulously to ensure that both sides are completely symmetrical. This marking process is critical, as it allows us to avoid overcorrecting and removing too much skin, which is a common complication that’s associated with poorly performed procedures. Once you’re sedated and the area has been accurately marked, we will use a combination of lasers and traditional surgical tools to carefully excise the excess skin and artistically reshape the labia until we’ve created a beautiful new intimate appearance.
